“Through the cracks of the constructs we sing a new world into creation. As the walls of Jericho came crashing down from the voices of all as one, so too we shall unify our voices in one tone, releasing that which is dead and dying and make space for new life to emerge.”

ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE

Morgan Sorne guides fellow singers through a series of basic vocal exercises with the intention of opening the heart and mind, breaking through inhibitions and mental barriers, allowing for the exploration of the voice.
Sorne uses harmonies from his music so that attendees can sing along during his performances if they so choose.
Attendees should bring water bottle, personal journal and pen or pencil.
Attendees are arranged in a circle on floor pillows or chairs around SORNE, seated center
No supplemental equipment needed
FIRST HOUR
Begins with breathing techniques, conditioning body for vocalizing effectively
Warm up exercises to open the vocal cords, extend range and prevent damage to larynx
Melodic scales are used to familiarize vocalists with personal range of voice
Learning of intervals between notes, improving awareness of pitch and melodic relationships
SECOND HOUR
Harmonization between sections of the group where each section is given a part
Cultivation of emotional symbolism, triggers and resources within the emotional landscape to promote authentic singing
Group harmonization where each attendee can sing out what they hear and feel with the vocal support of the group singing a harmonic motif together.
"By reclaiming the power of one's voice, I believe that we can become stronger. more confident, fully realized people, and in turn, inspire and empower others." - Morgan Sorne

At the end of the procession, Morgan Sorne will begin his performance by leading us all to sing a unified tone together as we envision that which we want to release, that which we want to embody, that which we want to witness and that which we want to see healed in our world.
We hold a space in our mouths, envisioning a ball of white light held there, about the size of a ping pong ball.
As we breathe in together on account of five, we call in that which we want to embody for ourselves and go to our world, expanding our diaphragm as if we were inhaling through our stomach.
As we hold for five seconds we hold in our thoughts; in our beings, an intention for healing, an intention for peace, a vision for balance, a prayer for stillness.
We exhale on a hum together, led by Morgan Sorne, holding that sphere of light in our mouths, feeling the maximum resonance of the unified tone we hum together, contracting the diaphragm; using every last bit of breath to draw out that hum.
As we exhale on the hum, we release the old ideas, we release the resentments, we release the pain, we release the fear, we release the anger.
We repeat the process. In for five. Hold for five. Hum with all of the breath we have held. We take our time, allowing for the hum to become one constant tone created by all. We carry the fire. We stoke the fire by way of our breath. Our sound. Some of us may find harmonics to hum around the tone. Some of us may hold the tone.
We feel the light of our voice; our breath, coursing through us.
As we hold the collective tone together we open into an “OHHH,” allowing the volume to rise. Morgan vocalizes and improvises with the support of the tone held by all.
We hold our intentions and release our lost loved ones, we release the old scripts.
One hand on heart, the other hand on diaphragm.
There are no wrong notes. We the people find the note within the tone that is true for us. We lead. We can sing and we sing a new world into creation.

ARTIST STATEMENT
Our voice is the most powerful tool we possess from birth until death. The voice is our divining rod, a vehicle for self-actualization. Our voice is our inner compass, a catalyst for moving emotional states through our bodies.
Our voice is our healing.
I have sung with tens of thousands of people of all ages, most of whom have never felt comfortable singing. Like Joshua and the Israelites singing to bring down the walls of Jericho in the Old Testament, I have also felt the walls of perception and inhibition fall EVERY time I activate a group of people in collective song.
Most of us have been told at a young age that we shouldn’t or couldn’t sing, and spend our lifetime stifled, blocked and bound by the thought that we can’t sing.
The greatest tragedy of the human experience is the notion that we are cut off from utilizing the beautiful gift that is our authentic singing voice.
I am compelled to empower all people to open up, to move past the blocks and embrace the beauty and power of our voice. In groups ranging from thirty people to thousands of people, we have felt the visceral transformation that takes place when we collectively allow ourselves to experience the incredible unfurling of the harmonic genius that exists
in every person.
Singing is medicinal. Signing heals trauma. Singing reveals who we truly are. Signing saves life.
As an artist, I am called to cultivate and facilitate the knowing that we ALL deserve to sing
and be in love with our singing voice.
If we can find goodness, kindness and healing, and by way of that healing, shift the perception of ourselves and one another in song, we can then more easily love ourselves, one another and the planet we have been given.
FOR MORE INFO:
As a flower blooms through concrete, pushing its way through what seems like impossible odds, so the focus intent of our collective voices push through the din of hatred, fear and negativity. Some of us stay in the miasma of our own personal / cultural wounds; looping over and over again, a discordant tune shaping the landscape that we inhabit. The wounds of us all running the show.
Generational trauma spinning the wheel, making forward movement by regular means glacial... or so it would seem. Yet the gift of Consciousness sings us forward; one note at a time, one voice at a time. Until the melody multiplied, voices united in a singular song that creates a shift. A focal point for positive , alchemical change.
There are those of us working hard to learn the harmony embedded in blood, reading the knowledge etched on our bones, clinging to the ancestral wisdom shaping the notes that we endeavor to sing. The gravitational pull of Another World.
Retrocausality illuminating the path we choose to walk again and again. And despite ( or maybe because of) personal pain, our voices are united in a Quantum Song, sonic reverberations cracking an outdated, obsolete code, yearning for transformation / healing, we sing a New Inclusive Future into Being.
So let us sing a new world into creation.
